Well, we still don't have our pictures ready from the Holidays, but when we do I will post them. We went down to Othello for the break, since both of our families are there, it's pretty easy to guess where we're going when we have a break. It was nice and long. Chad's last class got out on the 10th or 12th and the next semester didn't start until Jan. 7th.
It's nice how it works out with both families in the same town. We spent Christmas Eve at my parents and then got up at 2:00 am! It's kind of a funny story. My family usually gets up early, but not that early. This year my brother wasn't able to make it on Christmas, so Ellie was sleeping in the extra bedroom and Chad and I were on an air mattress in the living room. So we go to bed and wake up at 1:30 am to find the air mattress totally flat and we're laying on the floor. So we get up and start pumping it back up and we end up waking up my mom, who comes out to figure out what the noise was and where it was coming from. (the air mattress pump whistles when you use it.) So we decide since everyone was up except my dad and Ellie why don't we just wake my dad up and open presents and then go back to bed. So we did and in the process of moving all of the presents around, we woke up Ellie. So, we all opened presents at 2:00 am and then went back to sleep and woke up at 8:00 am and had our traditional Christmas morning breakfast, that consists of waffles with strawberries and whip cream.
Chad's family believes in sleeping in on Christmas morning. So after our early morning at my parents we headed over to there house and had another Christmas morning at 10, as well as a big breakfast of eggs, sausage, and pancakes. We were surprised when we got there that all of his brothers were awake. Usually we have to wake a few of them up.
For New Years, my family has a tradition of getting together at my grandparents house and pretty much having Thanksgiving all over again. It's always nice to get together and see family that you might not get to see at Christmas because of the traveling they have to do.
Overall, we had a great break and were happy we got to see lots of family and friends, while relaxing and getting to do whatever we wanted.
