Growing too fast....

Ellie and Hayden had check-ups last week and they are just about the same in everything. I wonder what Hayden is going to be like at Ellie's age. She has been staying about the same in the weight department because she runs around so much and he isn't running around yet and about the same in weight. Anyways, so Ellie is 24lbs 6oz and 32 1/2 inches long and Hayden is 22lbs and 29 inches long. He almost wears the same size clothes Ellie does!

Ellie has started counting and reading her books to us. It is the cutest thing! She also likes to sing and dance and color. We have also noticed that she is very smart and sneaky. When we scold her or get her in trouble she says that shes hungry to try and distract us from punishing her. Yeah, our 18 month old is already manipulating us!! Luckily, we have caught on.

Hayden is sitting up and rolling all over the floor really well. He loves his Johnny Jumper and to tell stories. He also rubs his feet together really fast whenever he is on his back. It's pretty funny. His top four teeth might finally make their appearance in the next week or so. He has been teething for two months and he doesn't handle it as well as Ellie does. He continues to outgrow all of his clothes in record time and is now in size 18 months. He can beat Ellie in wrestling matches and cheats by headbutting you or clawing your face.

We are keeping busy with the kids, school and work. Life is good.

Earrings

So, we pierced Ellie's ears this last Friday before we went home for the weekend and surprised both grandparents. She did great and only cried for five minutes. Ellie doesn't really notice them. She was excited to be like me and wear earrings. Of course she wouldn't sit still for me, so these aren't very good pictures of them, but you get the idea.

Halloween

So, this year we didn't make it to our ward trunk or treat because the kids did not have a good day. Both had meltdowns the ENTIRE day. Yesterday was by far the worst day I have ever had and this morning started out the same way, but ended all right. We ended up taking pictures with them in their costumes today. Ellie was a skunk, Hayden was Hulk, Chad was a mean rocker, and I was the mom ripping her hair out. Here are a few pictures. Enjoy!

Shaving Cream?

So, Chad was on the computer the other day messing around and he came across this guy, Joey Green. He said that if you have really sensitive skin, then shave with peanut butter. Chad has really sensitive skin and has given it a try and LOVES it. He doesn't get razor burn or have the burning and stinging sensation. The only thing he doesn't like is that he smells like peanut butter. Everyone should give it a try.

Mr. Tank

Hayden continues to grow five pounds a day! (not really) He is probably only a pound shy of Ellie's whopping 23 pounds. He was 20 pounds at his four month check-up. They both go in at the end of the month, so we will let everyone know if Hayden has passed his older sister in weight. He still just has his bottom two teeth, but has been teething for the last couple months, so hopefully he will get them soon. He has been eating rice cereal for a couple weeks now and after a good size bowl of that stuff he can still down six ounces! Hence the title Mr.Tank. That's what he was going to be for Halloween, but a tank is a little complicated, so he's being the Hulk and we think Ellie is going to be a ninja since Papa Gibson taught her Karate. So you better watch out for her.

This past week Hayden and Ellie have been sharing a room and it is AWESOME! The first night was a little rough because Ellie screamed for over an hour and then got use to him in there and now there aren't any problems. I actually think she has been sleeping better this past week than she has been these past few months. She was kind of a light sleeper to certain noises and now she's not. So, what I'm trying to say is that the transition wasn't bad for anyone and went a lot better than I was expecting!

Miss Piggy

So, yesterday I felt like trying something new with Ellie's hair, since she has lots of it. Boy was I surprised when she had enough for pigtails. Not the kind on the top of her head, but with all of her hair on the side of her head kind. It was really cute! Anyway, she continues to learn new words and signs everyday and loves helping with her little brother and with things around the house. Only two more weeks and she goes in nursery!! Woohoo!!

Big Girl

As you can see Ellie likes playing with Hayden's toys, even when she is too big. She has recently started climbing in his bouncer and has always climbed in his swing when he wasn't in it. She is talking a lot more and her new favorite words are book uh oh, and cracker. She says book and uh oh and does the sign for cracker. She is sure one smart kid. She also gets out of her pajamas. If the zip or snap, she can undo those and she has been able to get out of regular shirts for a while. So, we have to put some of her pajamas on backwards. This is the best picture we have and I don't know if you can tell, but the snaps are in the back.

Almost there....

Ellie will be in Nursery next month!! We are both really excited. We will actually be able to start going to class now, instead of being out in the hall chasing her around. It's kinda crazy that I have a kid that old! She continues to keep us on our toes and already acts like a teenager! Her vocabulary is getting bigger both with signs and spoken words. She loves to help with the laundry, dishes, and feeding and playing with Hayden. She likes Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, jumping on our bed, drawing, and being outside. She also likes being a big girl and eating at the table.

Teething Time

Hayden got his two bottom teeth about a month ago and his top ones are coming in now. He is miserable and doesn't take it as well as Ellie does. He is the one that is starting to drive me crazy! At his four month check-up he was 20 lbs and 27 inches long. He keeps getting thicker and thicker. He is a lot more vocal than Ellie was at this age. It's pretty funny to hear him. He also likes to suck on his toes and Ellie didn't do that either.

Ellie and Cold Cereal

So, Ellie LOVES cereal and Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. She could eat both all day long and pretty much already does, which means she usually has two baths a day sometimes more. She is a very messy eater. This is what she does when all of the cereal is gone from her bowl and all that's left is the milk.

Ellie's First Haircut

While we were down in Othello for Labor Day weekend, my mom decided to cut Ellie's bangs. That part of her hair isn't as curly as the back, so it always hung in her eyes and she always looked like one of those dogs that can never see because of their fur in the eyes. My mom said that it went past her chin. So now it looks much much better. I don't have any very good before pictures of it hanging in her eyes, but hopefully you guys can see the difference from her past pictures.

Fun With Grandma

Ellie loves playing outside, with hoses, water, and with Grandma. So this is her playing with all of them.

Thrush

So, Hayden got Thrush yesterday and we went into the Doctor's office to get him taken care of. Before we get to see the Doc they needed to weigh and measure him. In one of my previous posts I mentioned that WIC did all that on Monday. Well, in just two days he has gained weight and length. He is now currently 19lbs 1oz and 26 inches long, according to the Doc. I know there is a difference of scales and stuff like that, but I wasn't expecting that big of a difference between the two of them. I guess he's gaining weight in his sleep or something. Anyways, they painted his mouth with medicine that is PURPLE!! He was pretty funny looking, but still so cute.

Never A Dull Moment....

So, nothing exciting is happening over here, just the normal chaos of having two kids a year apart and one of them being Ellie. We have had a breakthrough with Ellie though that I think is very exciting. Ellie will SIT DOWN and WATCH the Baby Einstein movies for 10-15 minutes at a time!! It's a miracle that something will get her attention enough to where she'll sit still and watch. She is also going through a stage where she doesn't want to eat anything but cheese and bananas. Weird, but the doctor says that it's normal, so we aren't worried. She also now knows a little over 15 words in sign language and she can verbally say about a handful and she is only 15 months!! She also understands most of what we say to her or ask her to do. What a smarty pants!! She knows it too!! She also climbs on the furniture and can reach just about anything on our kitchen table and some things on our counters. She is our little curious George and is always keeping us on our toes.

Hayden seems to be more laid back and our little cuddle bug. He loves being held, which isn't very convenient when you have to chase Ellie around, but I love it. He had a WIC appointment today and he now weighs 18 lbs 3oz and is 25 inches long and he is THREE months!! He sure eats a lot more than the average three month old, but is using all of it so they aren't worried. He loves to smile and coo at you, which I love. He has been sleeping though the night now for about a month and will soon be in his crib in his room and out of ours!! Woohoo! He has started noticing his hands and sucks on them often. Hayden has been rolling over since this morning!

Here are some random pictures of them. Ellie with pigtails and wearing my fuzzy socks. (she loves playing dress up already!) And Hayden just sitting on the couch watching Ellie run around.

All Dressed Up For Church

Here are a couple pictures of the kids in their church clothes. They were both so cute that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take pictures of them. Ellie had just taken the barrette out of her and put it into her mouth. She does that with everything I put in her hair even rubber bands. Hayden is wearing an outfit that Auntie got him. I love that matching socks!

Sweet

So, last week sometime I was having a hard time with the kids. Ellie was teething and come to find out it was her fist two molars on the top. So she was fussy and whiny more than usual and Hayden had a sour stomach, so he was fussy too. Needless to say it was a very long day and I had to run some errands as well. Chad quickly found this out when he came home for lunch and decided to surprise me and make my day go better. He got two dozen roses and decorated our bed like this and really helped out with the kids when he got home from work. He is very sweet, supportive, and thoughtful. He did make my day I'm happy to say and it went by faster after I saw my surprise.

Rub a Dub Dub.....

Ellie loves bath time. She likes playing with the faucet and the drain. She likes playing with the water while I'm filling up the tub and she likes splashing! This time while I was shampooing her hair I tried to give her a mohawk and some horns. Her hair is really curly and long so they didn't turn out so well. Her mohawk just started curling over.

4th of July

I know that it's way past the fourth of July, but I thought I would update everyone on what we did. We went to Stoneridge with Chad's parents and his brother, Ty and Ty's wife Jenny. We had a good time. We got to go swimming and hot tubbing, we got to play walleyball, miniature golf, and we got to work out as well. Ellie didn't like the pool so much, but she loved the hot tub. It was nice to hang out and relax with everyone.
While we were there Chad saw a prowler and had to take some pictures of it. He also said that it had a sign on it that read, "You must shorter than five feet to ride in it." My Grammi would have loved it because she's 4'9" and in most cars has to sit on a pillow or a thick book to see over the steering wheel.

Rolly Poley

Hayden had his two month check-up today . His last check-up was two weeks ago and he has gained 2.5 lbs. He is now 16lbs and still the same length. He is getting some rolls on him.

Little Indian

We had spaghetti tonight for dinner and Ellie loved it. This is the first time she has had it at our house. We finally found some spaghetti sauce that doesn't have citric acid in it (ellie is allergic to citric acid and it's in everything!!). At first she was very cautious and only grabbed a noodle at a time and then she decided to dump her plate onto her tray and dig in with both hands. It was messy, but cute as well. Every time she put a noodle in her mouth she would giggle like it tickled or something. It was funny to watch. She was pretty tired and she couldn't help rubbing her eyes, so she got sauce on her face. We thought she looked like an Indian.

Chad Playing "Tommy The Cat," by Primus

Chad knows this song by heart, but still looks at his fingers because he doesn't like looking at people while he's playing. Enjoy!!

Handsome Hayden

Here are some more pictures of him hanging out and some of him smiling.
