So, we had a great time over the break! We had three Thanksgiving dinners and lots of fun hanging out with family. Wednesday we had dinner at my parents house because my brother had to work on Thursday. It was a nice quiet event. :) Thursday we had dinner with Chad's family. His oldest brother (Dustin #1) and family came down from Portland and oh my, the kids loved playing with cousins! It was great to see them. Chad's youngest brother (Brandon #6) drove up from Utah and hung out too. Ty (Chad's other brother #3) ad his wife, Jenny hung out on Friday and Saturday. Every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving Chad's extended family gets together for a dinner and games and fun. So it was a busy and fun break. We are so grateful for our wonderful, loving families!
Just so you know there are SIX boys in Chad's family and Chad is number 5. All are married except Brandon #6.

Maple- Walnut Chicken
So, I made the Maple-Walnut Chicken Recipe on Friday and we really like it. I don't have any pictures....sorry. Chad was a little nervous because it calls for apple-cider vinegar and made the house smell really bad. I left out the walnuts. I'm not a big nut fan, but this one is a keeper. Yay! I am getting more recipes to rotate through. I haven't made the cake yet, but really want too. I will probably make it when lots of family is around because we won't eat it all.

Potty Training
So the past week I have been potty training Ellie and it has gone REALLY well. She goes poop and pee in the potty no problem. She is just still leaning to tell me BEFORE she starts peeing. She has had only two night accidents and still has several during the day, but I can't complain. She thinks it's fun running to the potty and sitting on the big toilet. They love to play with her big girl undies and with the toilet. I'm excited to start going places again as she gets better.
Halloween
Well...our Halloween didn't turn out like we had planned, but it was still fun. Hayden woke up with a fever and wasn't his normal sweet and happy self, so we didn't do much. We had a ward party that we were planning on going to, but Chad stayed home with Hayden, so that I could get out of the house and take Ellie Trick 'or' Treating. Ellie was a cheerleader this year and Hayden was going to be Tom Cruise from Risky Business. I was really looking forward to Hayden dressing up. I will just have to dress him up later and post some pictures. Ellie had a blast playing with her friends, eating candy, and playing games. There were a lot of cute costumes too.

Cannon Beach
Tram and Astoria
Helicopter Ride!
So, as I mentioned in the previous post we got to ride in a helicopter and tour the beach and city. It was actually really fun, even though I was freaking out until we got in it.
We will definitely do it again if we get the chance. We just saw a sign on the side of the road and though "why not" and went.
Weekend Trip
Chad and I ran away for the weekend. We went to Portland and it was so nice to relax and sleep in and see the sights. We went to the rose and Japanese gardens, road the tram, went to Cannon Beach, Seaside and Astoria. The most exciting part of the trip was our helicopter tour of cannon beach and seaside. It was crazy, but worth it!

Mmmm....Marker
So, Ellie is getting too big. She can reach everything now and will get into it if you don't watch her. We were at Rex and Cheryl's house and the kids were playing in the toy room by themselves and when we went to check on them Ellie had reached the markers which are up on a high shelf. She then shared with Hayden.
Texas
So, we went to Texas for two weeks (a month ago) and had lots of fun. We really loved it down there, but Chad's job wasn't working out so we came back. Here are some pictures from our trip. I went and saw the Alamo with Katherine. She flew down with me, so I didn't have to fly with the kids by myself. I'm soooo glad she came with me. It is really green down there, which surprised me. I thought it would be dry like Arizona, but San Marcos is really lush.
